(Tony) Yule take the high road

This page's title comes from my house master at Salesian College Farnborough who used to sing "You'll take the high road and I'll take the low road and I'll be in Scotland before you" each time he saw me. It took me some time to work out why!

The book says that I should include some links!

Not many here since I retired.

Born in August 1941, I lived the first part of my life in Fleet, Hampshire, UK. My first job was with the Ministry of Aviation at Farnborough. After a year they sent me on a four year thin sandwich course in applied physics at the Brighton College of Technology (Now the University of Brighton). After obtaining my Diploma in Technology I switched disciplines and joined the computing, cybernetics and management department of the college where I was registered for a D Phil degree of the University of Sussex.

During this time I met and married Marvi Shorten and we have had three children, Maria, Peter and Barbara.

Having finished my research at Brighton we spent five years at CERN which was very enjoyable. I then took up a post at the Glamorgan Polytechnic (now the University of Glamorgan) in the Mathematics and Computing department where I was responsible for Computer Graphics. There I remained for seven years.

Then I took the plunge and became self employed joining Pat Blackall in a partnership called Data Processing Associates. We were together between 1980 and 1998 when Pat retired. the plunge proved to be worthwhile. The firm was wound up in 2004 when I retired.
