
(4) Enter a field on SE side of road through a kissing gate. Follow the path through another kissing gate and continue over bridge. (5)Turn half left and walk uphill to a gate.
Go through the gate and follow the field edge keeping the woodland on your left (6). Pass through the hedge at the kissing gate. Follow the path with the wood still on your left. (7) Enter the woodland and follow the muddy path for 20m emerging in a small field. Climb up towards the ICI storage complex (look out for its fence). Towards the top of the slope turn left and enter another field, passing through some trees. Turn right through some woodland keeping ICI on your right. After the ICI complex finishes the field opens out. Continue until the end of the wood is reached. Make your way through the southern end of the wood until you reach a gate to a lane (8).
Follow the lane uphill to Llwyn Milwas. At the end of the lane you will find a barn and stables on your left and a large house on your right (9). The footpath passes through the yard of the house onto the road.
Turn left out of Llwyn Milwas. Enter field on right via stile. Cross the field, downhill to a ditch and stile. Cross this stile and cross the next field keeping the hedgerow on your right. Pass through a gap at the end of the field and head towards the stile at the opposite left hand end of the next field. Llwyn-y-brain can be seen ahead of you (10).
Cross this stile. At the next stile turn right and follow the barbed wire fence behind the outbuildings. Cross this stile into the road, turn right and follow the road to the T junction. Cross the road with care and enter the field opposite via the stile.
The field boundaries here (11) consist of small dykes covered with trees. Continue straight onto the first boundary. Veer right and cross this field to its right hand boundary. Cross the stile by end of boundary on your left. This section can be very wet! Pass through the hole in the hedge and cross the stile over the wire fence down to the disused railway.
(12) Turn left and follow the line until a road bridge crosses the track. Leave the old railway line by a path on the right that climbs up to the bridge and road (13).
At the road turn left and follow the road until a T junction. Turn right and follow busy narrow road for 200 yards until the Caesar's Arms Pub is reached (14).
Just after the car park cross the road and enter a cricket field. You are now on the Taff Ely Ridgeway Walk again with its distinctive yellow and black waymarks. Follow the Ridgeway Walk past the landfill site on your right, over the Afon Clun bridge and continue until you reach the lane at Rhiwsaeson. Turn left downhill back to the start.
